Mecobalamin

Overview

Mecobalamin is a vitamin B-12 co-enzyme that occurs in blood and cerebrospinal fluid. Mecobalamin is taken by nerve tissues more actively and extensively than other homologues of vitamin B12. Mecbalamine accerelates the synthesis of nucleic acid in bone marrow as well as promotes the maturation and division of erythroblast and haeme synthesis, resulting in an increase in erythrocyte (RBCs) production.

Side Effects

Mecobalamin produces potentially life-threatening effects which include Cardiac arrhythmia, Aggravation of acidosis. which are responsible for the discontinuation of Mecobalamin therapy.

The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Mecobalamin are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Headache, Nausea, Vomiting, Anorexia, Diarrhea, Tachycardia, Sweating, Skin RashX, Hot sensation, Allergic hypersensitivity reactions.
