Sickle cell disease

Anemia characterized by sickle shaped erythrocytes, in these cells, substitution of a single amino acid takes place (i.e.valine for glutamic acid) at sixth position of beta chain of hemoglobin, result in increased hemolytic, leads to decreased number of RBC`s.
