Oxaprozin
Overview
Oxaprozin is NSAID (non steroidal antinflammatory drug). Oxaprozin is one of the newest of the propionic acid derivative. It relieves pain and reduces inflammation and fever. It has a very long half life and it can be given once a day. Because of this long half life dose adjustment should be made at intervals no shorter than five days to two weeks.

Pharmacokinetics
Plasma protien binding is > 99 %. and metabolism is reported Hepatic. Renal Excretion accounts for 65 % and plasma half life is 40 - 50 hr.

High Risk Groups
Drug should not be given to Pregnant Mothers, Cardiac / Hypertensive Patients, patients suffering from Kidney dysfunction, and patients suffering from Liver Malfunction.
