Cyperus rotundus Linn.. This is a common erect, perennial herb. The branches are long and with three edges, leafy spikelets linear, reddish-brown. The flowers are tiny, 10-15 flowered, greyish black. The tubers are small and tiny rootlets occur on the blackish surface. The blackish rhizomes are small, slightly fragrant
