Herb's Description
Onosma bracteatum Wall.. A medium sized perennial herb; stems many, arising from a persistent cluster of basal leaves 50 cm long; basal leaves lanceolate, entire, acute, narrowed towards the base into a winged petiole, middle cauline leaves lanceolate, sessile, entire, acute, rounded at the base, 6-8 cm by 1-2.7 cm; inflorescence of terminal glomerate clusters very dense, 4-10 cm broad in flowers, later becoming lax showing the crowded densely flowered forked individual cymes; bracts hairy lanceolate; calyx divided to the base, lobes linear-lanceolate, 15-18 mm long, corolla blue or purple, usually shorter, sometimes equaling the calyx, 13-17 mm; nutlets grey, angulate, coarsely rugose and tuberculate; 4-5 mm long .green parts arecovered with hairs.
