Herb's Description
Withania somnifera (L.) Dunal. A suffruticose shrub 60-99 cm tall. Leaves are ovate 10 cm long, hairy. Flowers sessile to subsessile, greenish-yellow, in axillary clusters of 2-5. Berry globose, 6-8 mm broad, red. Seeds subpyriform to reniform, minutely reticulate-foveolate, yellowish-brown(84). Root hard, tapering and branched, below whitish-brown, woody and thick as the little finger; root bark thick, smooth, giving off irregularly branched fibrils; wood hard, of a white colour and not easily broken
